To a mixture of 2-amino pyrazine (50 g, 0.5 mol) in chloroform (1000 ml) cooled to 0C was added pyridine (100 ml, 1.21 mol) and bromine (54 ml, 1.05 mmol) dropwise. The mixture was stirred at rt for 16h, then water was added. The organic phase was extracted, dried (MgS04), filtered and evaporated to obtain I- 01 , 48 g (Y: 36 %) of a yellow solid which was dried in vacuo.
