The bioconversion of DL-2-aminothiazoline-4-carboxylic acid (I) to L-cysteine (II) was investigated. On the other hand, since a II-decomposing enzyme coexisted in the crude enzyme solution, most of the II formed disappeared in the absence of its inhibitor. However, hydroxylamine was a potent inhibitor which could successfully prevent the decomposition of II.
