General procedure: Sodium hydride (60% in mineral oil, 0.04 g, 1 mmol) was addedto a stirred solution of benzyl alcohol derivative (1 mmol) inanhydrous N,N-dimethylformamide (3 mL of DMF) at room temperatureand stirring was continued for 1 h. 2-Amino-3-chloropyrazine (8b, 0.13 g, 1 mmol) was added to the reactionmixture and the reaction mixture was stirred at 100 C for 15 h.After cooling, the solvent was evaporated and the residue waspartitioned betweenwater and dichloromethane.
