A solution of 8chioroimidazo[i,2a1pyrazine (730 mg, 4.8 mrnol) and NCS (955 mg, 7,2mrnol) in MeCN/DCE (10 rnL/5 rnL ) was heated to 90 C overnight. After LCMS indicated thatstarting material disappeared, the mixture was poured into water (20 mL) and extracted with DCM (20 mL x 3). The combined organic layer was washed with water (20 rnL) and brine (20 mL), dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate, filtered and concentrated in vacuo, The residue was purified by chromatography on silica (3% FtOAc in petroleum ether) to give the title compound(700 mg) as a yellow solid.
