Step-2: (0932) Preparation N-((3-chloropyrazin-2-yl)methyl)acetamide: (0933) [00353] To a solution of (3-chloropyrazin-2-yl)methanamine hydrochloride (3.5 g, 19.49 mmol) in dichloromethane (100 mL) was added diisopropylethylamine (10.18 mL, 38.99 mmol) followed by acetic anhydride (3.67 mL, 38.9 mmol) at room temperature. Then the reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 1 h. The reaction mixture was diluted with ice water (100 mL), basified with saturated sodium bicarbonate solution and extracted with ethyl acetate (3 x 200 mL). The combined organic layer was dried over anhydrous sodium sulphate, filtered and concentrated. The crude product was purified by silica gel column chromatography using 3% methanol in dichloromethane to afford the title compound N-((3- chloropyrazin-2-yl)methyl)acetamide (1.66 g, 46% yield) as a brown solid.
