Elution with 0-40% ethyl acetate/hexane gave 2-chloro-N-(3-methoxy-5-methylpyrazin-2-yl)pyridine-3-sulphonamide (0.47 g) as an oil; 1 H NMR (d6 -DMSO): 2.3 (s, 3 H), 3.9 (s, 3 H), 7.5 (s, 1 H), 7.65 (dd, 1 H), 8.45 (dd, 1 H), 8.7 (dd, 1 H); mass spectrum (+ve CI): 315 (M+H)+.
