The crude was purified by silica gel column chromatography (PE/THF = 3/1) to afford (6R,8aS)-N-((3-chloropyrazin-2-yl)methyl)-2,2-dimethyl-3- oxooctahydroindolizine-6-carboxamide. 1H NMR (400 MHz, CDC13) delta ppm 1.08 – 1.28 (m, 6 H), 1.40 – 1.55 (m, 1 H), 1.70 – 1.91 (m, 2 H), 1.95 – 2.21 (m, 3 H), 2.36 (t, J = 12.4 Hz, 1 H), 2.87 (t, J= 12.4 Hz, 1 H), 3.40 (d, J = 7.6 Hz, 1 H), 4.32 (dd, Ji = 13.2, J2 = 3.2 Hz, 1 H), 4.70 (m, 2 H), 7.05 (s, 1 H), 8.32 (s, 1 H), 8.44 (s, 1 H).
